Titan has supplied a large order for Robinet refrigeration valves for the Royal Navy new aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.

The valves are being used by J & E Hall contracting in Glasgow who are designing and building eleven chilled water package units.  These will supply vital cooling and air conditioning for the crew and electrical equipment inside the ship.

This order follows previous orders to Titan received from York Navy Systems for refrigeration valves for 24 package sets for the six 7,500 tonnes Daring Class Destroyers.  These ships are now being fitted out by BAE Systems Surface Ships on the Clyde.

The total valve order for the HMS Queen Elizabeth covers some 440 valves which were delivered complete with Lloyds and 3.1b certificates in under five weeks to the J & E Hall, fabricators in Glasgow.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is being built in large fabricated blocks at six UK shipyards with the final assembly of the ship taking place at Rosyth. The lower bow section was recently delivered from Babcock’s Appledore facility in North Devon to the facility in Rosyth.  The flight deck is being manufactured by Cammell Laird in Birkenhead and A&P Tyne on Tyneside.  The large hull sections are currently well under way at BAE System’s yards in Portsmouth and Glasgow.  

New valve orders for the second aircraft carrier, HMS Prince Charles have also been  placed for delivery early 2012.

These latest additions to the Royal Navy continues over thirty years of Titan supplying equipment to the Surface Fleet, vessels from the Type 42 Destroyer to  HMS Ocean Helicopter Carrier, HMS Albion Command/Assault Ship, Fleet Tankers and River Class Deep Sea Mine Sweepers.
